Fall 2025 Orientation
Description
Our comprehensive program is designed to aid you in making a successful transition, both academically and socially, to the College community. During orientation, you will learn how to make the most of your college experience and gain essential skills for success in your academic pathway. Most importantly, you will have the opportunity to interact with your classmates, faculty, and staff, while gaining familiarity with the technology and procedures needed for the first day of classes.
Attendance at this program is mandatory for all students new to Penn Highlands. New students across all Penn Highlands locations are expected to attend this program which is held at our main campus location, our Richland Campus. Transportation in our college vans will be provided for students who need it with a pick up location at each of the college's locations (i.e. Bellefonte Center, Blair Center, Ebensburg Center, or Somerset Center. Students interested in transportation must indicate that request on their RSVP.
Questions & Answers
Yes, transportation in college vans will be provided from our Somerset, Blair, Huntingdon, Centre County, and Ebensburg Centers. Students must reserve their seat in transportation on the RSVP form. Students will be responsible for arriving at the appropriate Center at the specified meeting time.
Yes! A light lunch will be provided during the program. Students are asked to note any special dietary restrictions on their RSVP form.
Yes. All new students to Penn Highlands must attend an orientation program.
Yes. Students may bring up to two guests with them.
Yes. Students will meet not only with their assigned academic advisor during the program, but they will meet various staff advisors and instructors throughout the day.
Yes, all of our offices will be open to assist students. Some offices may be occupied with presenting information during the orientation program, but they will be available to you once their portion of the presentation is over.
Yes. The college's bookstore, located at our Richland Campus, will be open during Orientation. The busiest times to visit the bookstore is around lunch time. We suggest visiting the bookstore during the Resource and Activity Fair at 9:00 - 9:30AM or 2:30 - 3:30PM when the traffic may be slower.
Yep, the Registrar's Office will be open to assist students with adding and dropping classes. Advisors will also be available to assist you with questions.
The program is scheduled from 9:30 - 2:30PM. We have time before and after the formal program for students and families to get additional information from our staff and offices. That time is 8:30 - 9:30AM and 2:30 - 4:30PM.
